Islamabad, October 24, 2023 (PAKONOMY): In a recent development, the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, has emphasized the critical need for an uninterrupted and punctual supply of fertilizer to farmers in preparation for the upcoming Rabi crop. This call to action came during a review meeting convened to address the country’s fertilizer supply situation.
The review meeting, held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, primarily centered around ensuring that farmers receive a timely and adequate supply of urea fertilizer. It also emphasized the importance of maintaining a sufficient buffer stock of fertilizers to safeguard the interests of farmers.
One of the key concerns addressed during the meeting was the prevention of unjustified increases in fertilizer prices. Prime Minister Kakar urged district administrations to vigilantly monitor fertilizer prices, ensuring that farmers are not burdened with exorbitant costs.
During the meeting, participants were provided with detailed information about the current fertilizer production levels and the expected demand for fertilizers in the country. Furthermore, the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee to maintain an uninterrupted supply of fertilizer were reviewed.
